How To Use The Apple IPhone and IPod Touch As A Universal Remote Control.

The IPod Touch and the IPhone can both be used as a remote control, to control any Apple WiFi enabled devices within your home, office or car (and trailer homes, too!). You can sit back in the den and control your other Apple products that have WiFi connectivity throughout your home, business, car, and anywhere else you may have a network installed. The means to this end is to download the Remote application (app) from the IPhone Apps Store, which turns your IPhone or IPod Touch into a remote control on steroids.

According to Steve Jobs, who announced from the annual Macworld Trade Show that the reason Apple Computer Inc. is now to be known simply as Apple Inc, as of January 10, 2010, is that the Apple television set is set to revolutionize the television watching experience as much as the IPhone revolutionized the cell phone. Owning the Apple television will be on the Apple technophile's wish list long before it comes to market, if not already, and as long as the Android platform-run smart phones do not overtake the IPhone and/or Apple IPod Touch, the market for the all-inclusive Apple home entertainment system could be as huge as the Apple IPhone launch was.

The Remote App for the IPhone or IPod Touch is the top downloaded app from the IPhones Apps Store for the Apple smart phones, and is free to download. Designed by a third party, the Remote App is extremely popular amongst those that have the IPhone and an Apple laptop, Apple television set-top box, as well as an ITunes capable MP3 listening device. All Apple components can be synced and work together, which has your IPhone or IPod Touch turning your home into a smart home.

Apple television set? Yes, Apple has a set-top box at the moment that will turn your television into an Apple controlled television set, and, as of the latest news out of Steve Jobs' marketing team, Apple is to unveil a supposedly revolutionary television in late 2010 (think Christmas!), or early 2011. For those who have become addicted to their IPhone or IPod Touch, the Apple television set will be a must-have when it is released, and Apple is counting on the television being as hot in sales as the IPhone and IPod touch were when first introduced to the market.

Until the Apple television is released, the Apple television set-top box will have to do. The set-top box turns your television into an interactive device, capable of playing your ITunes, and any Apple related products. The Apple IPhone and IPod Touch can be hooked up to the set-top box via WiFi to either control the television, or to transfer what you are watching on your IPod to your television without a bundle of wires. The Remote app will control all of the set-top box functions, as well as transfer audio and/or video to the television.

With an Apple computer and/or laptop, an ITunes MP3 player, IPhone and/or IPod Touch, along with the Apple television set-top box (and, when introduced to market, the Apple television), your home entertainment can all be controlled by your IPhone or IPod Touch. Play music that is stored on your IPod Touch on your surround sound system or stereo that is hooked up to your television set, or watch television on your IPhone. All components can interact with each other, and all be controlled via the Remote app on your IPhone or IPod touch.

Apple. It appears that they are not going to just lay down and let the Android-run smart phones and apps take over their market share.
